Pet Insurance: Can You Afford to Wait?

By Dr. Jack Walkenhorst

August 10, 2017

In my experience as a practicing veterinarian for 35 years, I’ve found that pet insurance is one of the best investments a pet owner can make for their pet. Almost every pet will suffer a severe and costly injury or illness in his or her lifetime, and not many people have $10,000 lying around in case of an accident. Pet insurance means that a pet owner will never have to choose between optimal care for a pet and finding a way to pay for it.

Caring for Senior Pets

By Dr. Jack Walkenhorst

January 9, 2018

As pets get older, it can be challenging to know how to best care for them. Due to advances in veterinary care and improved pet nutrition, pets are living longer now than ever before. With this increase in longevity, medical conditions that are common in aging pets are being seen more frequently by both pet owners and veterinarians.
