It’s a sad reality that hundreds of dogs and cats go missing every year and never return home. Did you know there’s only a 2% chance of finding a lost cat that is not microchipped and a 20% chance of finding a lost dog with no microchip? Microchipping a pet drastically increases the chance that it will find its way home if it becomes lost or separated from the family. In fact, the chance of finding a lost dog or cat increases to 50% when it has an implanted microchip. In recognition of National Chip Your Pet Month, Pets In Need veterinarian and board member, Dr. Jack Walkenhorst discusses the process and importance of microchipping your pet.
