Pets In Need Thanks You
PetSmart Charities
We’re proud to be a recipient of PetSmart Charities’ Accelerator Grant, a transformative $500,000 investment in our mission. As the cost of veterinary care continues to rise, families across the country are struggling to access even the most basic services. With support from PetSmart Charities, we’re making critical capital improvements, upgrading our systems, and expanding our team and medical supplies. These enhancements allow us to serve more pets in need—providing wellness, illness, and advanced care to the most vulnerable animals in our community while keeping services affordable for the families who love them.

Donald Klekamp
Don Klekamp, a proud Cincinnatian and longtime community leader, has made a transformational $100,000 gift to Pets In Need in loving memory of his late wife, Marianne and their cherished Westie, Lily. Known for his humility and generosity, Don often reflects on the deep values instilled by his family and the life he built with his beloved wife, Marianne - one rooted in gratitude, faith, family, and giving back. His thoughtful gift will help ensure that pets living in households facing financial hardship can access the veterinary care they need to stay healthy and remain with the people who love them. We are truly honored by Don’s support and the compassion he brings to our mission.
Joanie Bernard Foundation
We are honored to receive a $50,000 grant from The Joanie Bernard Foundation to support our Cats In Need initiative. This funding helps expand access to affordable, feline-focused care, including medications, surgeries, and a new cat-only waiting area, so more cats can stay healthy and at home with the families who love them. The Joanie Bernard Foundation’s investment is part of their ongoing commitment to improving feline health outcomes and preventing unnecessary shelter surrenders or euthanasia. With their help, we’re building a future where more cats stay healthy, in homes, and out of harm’s way.

Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust
We’re grateful to the Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust for awarding us a $15,000 grant to support pets in urgent need of care. As veterinary costs rise many families are forced to make heartbreaking decisions between their own needs and those of their pets. Thanks to the Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust, we’re able to offer additional financial support for non-routine care—like treating acute illness, managing chronic conditions, or providing unexpected surgeries—on a case-by-case basis. This funding helps reduce client copays to individually affordable levels, ensuring that pets don’t have to suffer due to financial hardship. With this support, we can intervene when it matters most and keep beloved pets healthy and home.

Petco Love
We’re honored to receive a $2,500 grant investment from Petco Love, a national nonprofit dedicated to keeping pets and their families together. This funding supports our lifesaving work in Greater Cincinnati by helping increase access to essential veterinary services for those who need it most. Petco Love’s investment is part of a broader $1.5 million commitment to spay/neuter clinics and low-cost care providers across the country, aimed at reducing economic euthanasia and preventing pet surrenders due to financial hardship. With their support, we’re able to offer affordable care that helps pets stay healthy and together with the people who love them.
