You Make Our Tails Wag

This year has been one of stability, growth, and laying the foundation for our dreams for the future. As we enter the season of Thanks and Giving, we are reminded that the heart of Pets In Need is the community that makes this progress possible. We give thanks for our dedicated staff and volunteers, generous donors and partners, and the families who trust us with the pets they love. Together, you help turn financial hardship into hope, making compassionate, high-quality veterinary care accessible when it might otherwise be out of reach. This season, we celebrate the many ways people give—through their time, talents, kindness, and financial support—and the difference those gifts make every day. Thank you for helping keep pets healthy, families together, and the bond between them strong. Here’s to dreams coming true and to the caring community helping us turn them into reality.

Helping Paws from Rotary Club of Cincinnati

We were grateful to welcome volunteers from the Rotary Club of Cincinnati and Crux RoadBoardz Graphics for Rotary Do Days! During their visit, the group rolled up their sleeves to help clean around the clinic and outdoor areas, organize donations and tackle other projects that help keep Pets in Need running smoothly. They also shared more about Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self” and its commitment to making a difference in the community. Every helping hand makes a difference, allowing us to continue providing affordable, high-quality veterinary care to pets and the people who love them. We are especially thankful for Cincinnati Rotary’s continued support over the years and for the time, energy and dedication its members bring to helping others. Thank you to everyone who gives their time to make our mission possible!

Love You Fur-ever

At six years old, Nova Lee is facing more than any pet parent ever wants their beloved companion to go through. With cancer and a tumor on her leg, she needs extra care and, most of all, the comfort of the people who love her. At home, Nova Lee has a mom who is determined to be there for her every step of the way. Even while navigating the uncertainty of her own financial circumstances as a single mom with no current income, she continues to put Nova Lee’s needs first. When it came time for Nova Lee’s veterinary visit, she was prepared to use her rent money to make sure her girl could get the care she needed. That’s how much Nova Lee means to her.

Pets are family, and no one should have to choose between caring for a beloved companion and keeping a roof over their heads. We were able to help Nova Lee get the care she needed without her mom having to sacrifice the money that keeps a roof over their heads, with the generous grant from Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust. Instead of leaving with the added worry of how to cover rent, she could focus on being there for Nova Lee. “I will forever be grateful,” she shared. Because every pet deserves to be surrounded by love, and every family deserves the chance to give them the care they need.

A Partnership Worth Wagging About

Some partnerships do more than provide resources. They help organizations grow, learn from one another, and find new ways to make a difference. Through the PetSmart Charities Accelerator Grant program, Pets In Need has gained valuable support, guidance, and opportunities to strengthen our work and expand our impact.

Recently, our team had the opportunity to connect with PetSmart Charities and fellow Accelerator grantees from across the country sharing experiences, learning from one another, and celebrating the progress being made across participating organizations. We were also excited to welcome Aimee and JJ from PetSmart Charities to Pets In Need for a visit! Their visit offered a firsthand look at our mission in action and seeing the impact of their investment. Spending time in the clinic also provided a deeper understanding of the everyday realities of caring for pets whose families face financial hardship. Together, we reflected on the progress this partnership has made possible and explored opportunities to build on that momentum.

We are deeply grateful to PetSmart Charities for investing in our mission and in the people who carry it forward. Their support reaches beyond our clinic walls to the families who rely on us for compassionate, high-quality, affordable care. As we put these resources, lessons, and connections to work, our purpose remains clear: keeping more pets healthy and with the people who love them.

Growing the Next Generation of Vet Care

We were excited to return to The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine Career Expo for the second year! The event gave us the opportunity to connect with students and aspiring veterinary professionals who are preparing to make a difference in animal care. We enjoyed sharing more about our mission to make veterinary care accessible and the important role affordable care plays in keeping pets healthy and with the families who love them. Since last year’s expo, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming students who have completed their time with us, and we’re excited to see what’s ahead for them as they continue their veterinary journeys. We’re also looking forward to welcoming new students and helping them gain hands-on experience while making a difference for the pets and families we serve. We’re grateful for our continued connection with the Ohio State University, University of Cincinnati, and several other colleges who are all dedicated to  the next generation of veterinary professionals!

Paws for a Cause

Some of the most meaningful support comes from people who believe in making a difference for pets and the families who love them.

This fall, Regina Richmond, owner of Gina Lynn's and a neighbor in our community, looked to bring people together and decided to include us in her plans. A tradition that began in 2013 and is now spreading across the country, the Mrs. Roper’s Romp came to Lockland.  This fun filled event showcased local businesses and brought fun to the streets. The event generated quite a crowd and raised $3,500 for Pets In Need. Thank you to all who supported the event and contributed!

Around the same time, the Cincinnati Chrome Divas gathered for their annual chili cookoff, raising funds to help support our mission. How wonderful to have been chosen for a second year. We are honored by the support and the personal connection behind our relationship.  It was not too long ago that one of their members was a Pets In Need client. She experienced firsthand how access to affordable veterinary care can make a difference and today, she’s giving back to help other families facing similar challenges! It’s a lovely reminder of how the care we provide can reach beyond the clinic and inspire others to pass that kindness along.

Another wonderful show of support came from Katie Crawford and Eric Vice, creators of the Dogs of Findlay Market 2026 calendar! The calendar captured a day at Findlay Market featuring local pups exploring the market alongside their owners. The calendar brought together a love of pets and a desire to give back. Thanks to everyone who purchased a calendar, an incredible $3,530 in proceeds was donated to Pets In Need! We are so grateful to Katie, Eric, and everyone who helped make this project a success and support affordable veterinary care for pets and their families.

When you give, you’re supporting more than veterinary care. You’re helping seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, individuals experiencing homelessness, and families facing financial hardship keep their beloved pets healthy and by their side. One gift can make a difference in so many lives, both human and animal. Explore the ways you can support our mission below.
