As we step into a new year, we’re feeling energized by what’s ahead and deeply grateful for what makes our work possible. The start of the year always brings a sense of new beginnings, fresh opportunities, growing partnerships, and continued improvements to better serve our community. From behind the scene changes to everyday moments in the clinic, this season has been about building a stronger foundation for the future.
None of it would be possible without our incredible team, volunteers, community partners, and other supporters who show up day after day with commitment, compassion, and belief in our mission. Together, we’ve already made a meaningful impact! Here’s a look at what we accomplished in 2025. |

Updates are underway at the clinic, both outside and behind the scenes. Our new awning is officially up, marking the beginning of updates to the front of our clinic. It’s the first step toward creating a welcoming, polished street view that reflects the care happening inside. We’ve also started construction inside the house to relocate our administrative offices. This shift allows us to expand the clinic and better use the space for what matters most, patient care. With more room for surgery and expanded services, we’re working toward reaching our full potential and serving even more pets in our community.
Thank you to the Village of Lockland’s Façade Renovation Grant Program who funded our awning and to the many grantors listed below for helping us grow so we can continue providing essential veterinary services for pets and the families who need them most! |

| SAVING PETS & THEIR PEOPLE |
Penny’s pets have always been her anchor. During some of the most difficult moments in her life, they gave her purpose, comfort, and a reason to keep going. Keeping them healthy and by her side has never wavered, even in periods of homelessness. Penny was referred by Found House, who graciously funded her first several appointments. Through Pets In Need, Penny continues to bring her pets in for care, from routine wellness to support during times of illness, knowing she doesn’t have to face those moments alone.
“If it weren’t for Pets In Need,” Penny told us, “I wouldn’t have my pets and I wouldn’t be here,” indicating how important her pets are to her livelihood. This reminds us that veterinary care is about more than medicine. It’s about stability, dignity, and keeping families together when it matters most. |

| HAPPY TAILS & HEALTHY PETS |
Back in early December, we teamed up with SPCA Cincinnati for an important year-end vaccine clinic. With Dr. Bauman and Dr. Lovitt leading the way, nearly 30 dogs and cats received vaccines and microchips, helping set them up for healthier, safer lives. This clinic reminded us just how powerful community partnerships can be when it comes to expanding access to care. This year we're continuing to team up to provide multiple vaccine clinics for our community. The need is real, the impact was immediate, and we’re excited to keep building on this work together!

| A DECADE OF PAWS-ITIVE CHANGE |
This year, we’re celebrating a truly special milestone, 10 years of Dr. Black’s dedication, heart, and expertise at Pets In Need. Over the past decade, she’s cared for thousands of pets and been a constant source of hope and support for the families who love them. From everyday wellness visits to the most challenging moments, Dr. Black’s compassion and leadership have shaped our clinic and helped define our mission.
As she shares, “Celebrating 10 years at PIN is an incredible milestone. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to care for so many animals, work alongside such a compassionate team, and serve such a wonderful community. I’m proud of the impact we’ve made and look forward to continuing the mission for many years to come.” We are endlessly grateful for her expertise, her heart, and her unwavering dedication and we can’t wait to see the next chapter of her incredible journey with Pets In Need.

For years, the Vance Waddell family has been a steadfast supporter of Pets In Need, giving generously in honor of their beloved dog, Ziva. Their continued commitment to funding dental care has made a meaningful difference for countless pets who would otherwise go without this essential part of veterinary care.
Dental disease can cause pain, infection, and serious health complications if left untreated. Because of the Vance Waddells’ ongoing support, pets are able to receive cleanings, extractions, and relief from chronic discomfort, improving not just their oral health, but their overall quality of life. This year, the Vance Waddells deepened their impact even further by increasing their giving, allowing us to help even more pets in need. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and for honoring Ziva in a way that continues to bring comfort and care to so many.

Without the generosity of the community supporting us, we wouldn't be able to continue to provide affordable, high-quality veterinary care and raise over half a million dollars in 2025 for the no-, low-, and limited-income pet owners that we are committed to. A special recognition to PetSmart Charities, Greater Cincinnati Foundation, Joanie Bernard Foundation, Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust, Petco Love, Joint Women's Collaborative of Wyoming, and numerous individual donors.
